KBA provided OPM services for the study, design and construction of Methuen High School Addition and Renovation project. Our services include management and oversight of the high school project, along with planning and management of swing space needs during construction, including relocation of district central administration offices and a three year relocation of 9th grade population to an off site City facility.

The project included selective demolition, a 105,000 square foot addition, and reconfiguration renovations to 263,700 square feet of the existing two story academic building. The project was performed as a multi-phased occupied renovation, utilizing the CM at Risk delivery method.

The project scope included construction of a new building entrance with adjoining administration space, a new media center with media production TV studio; a new auditorium and fine arts education spaces; new kitchen and cafeteria; new JROTC classroom and support spaces; new and upgraded MEP throughout; life safety upgrades (fire alarm/suppression); complete reconfiguration and renovation of existing "open concept" academic wing; 15 new state of the art science labs; exterior window enlargements and replacements; roof replacement; and limited renovations to existing ice rink and field house. The project also includes MSBA "Green School" incentives, MA-CHPS program and sustainable design/construction initiatives.
